window fuse keeps blowing
window fuse keeps blowing
Hello everyone. This is my first post to this forum. I've had this problem for about 2 weeks now. I've searched various forums and looked for an answer on the web but haven't found anything that targets my problem.
Well I own a 2002 Civic ex that keeps blowing a fuse as soon as I turn the key to the ON position. The fuse controls the front passenger power window. It's a 20 amp fuse, #23 I believe. I thought it might have been the motor that went bad and was drawing too much current so I replaced the motor with a new one and it still blew the fuse. I disconnected the terminals going to the window motor as well as the window switch on the passenger door just to eliminate those as potential problems. Well with those terminal disconnected, I replaced the fuse, turned the key to the ON position and the fuse blew instantly, without me even touching the window switch on the driver's door.
I looked to see if I could see any wires that were pinched or exposed, but i couldn't see any. Any ideas what I should check next? Is it possible that the fuse box itself has gone bad just in that one fuse slot?

Re: window fuse keeps blowing
Sounds like a short, meaning you have a power wire touching the wrong thing.
Don't know where it could be though. It most likely is within the wiring to the pass window
Or there might be a short behind the fusebox
