For future reference: this problem is usually caused by cracked solder on the DRL relay. Taking out the DRL relay and re-soldering the cracked ones fixes this.

The DRL circuit uses the high beam bulbs. (Canada models)

There was a recall for 01s and early 02s for missing low beams.

Re: No low beams on a 2001 Honda Civic?

also found an article on another forum called.

DIY Combination Switch Fix (Headlight Switch) AND Wiper Combo Switch

im skeptical but ill give it a whirl.. as it seems i had a similar problem on the a/c control ***** in our old chevy malibu.

I just despise the idea of going to the dealer for anything , except for free hotdogs and tshirts during their promos.

you know because of the 10 minute job winds up taking them all friggen day type thing.

it should be a free recall and not take too long

Re: No low beams on a 2001 Honda Civic?

Yessir, and thanks for the pdf.. We will likely go in for the repair within the next week hopefully, then its off to the paint shop for some overdue care, It seems there is also a recall for the airbag for something related to it as well.I do not want to **** the guys off at Honda so ill take it easy on em and maybe schedule the airbag for a different day.

I just do not want the wife getting a ticket for running people down with the high beams. LOL

Re: No low beams on a 2001 Honda Civic?

the airbag recall is only if the original factory airbag was replaced. so if you had the car since it was new and no accidents, there is no problem. otherwise they have to check and see if it qualifies for a new bag. shouldnt take long at all and prolly you still have the original so they wont need to replace it.
