Transmission Issue
Problem #1: The car does not want to leave 1st gear. At 3300 RPMs it leaves first gear. I have never had transmission issues with this car. With my foot on the break, when I put it in drive from park it lurches somewhat before taking my foot off. What sensor does the transmission look at to switch gears? Maybe it is loose. FYI...I just replaced the head gasket.

For those interested, it was the throttle position sensor. The connection was loose. Once I reconnected, the transmission started shifting at the right RPMs.
