Threw A Few Codes
Saturday morning, I got an oil change and topped off all the fluids, then did about 300 mi of highway driving over the weekend. Car ran fine, no problems at all. No problems on Monday either. Today I drove from Seattle to Tumwater (~60 miles), and parked the car at a customer site, did about an hour of work, and when I got back in and started it, my CEL stayed on. Went to AutoZone and borrowed their scan tool and got 2 occurrences of P0171 (Bank 1, Lean Condition Detected), and 1 occurrence of P1298 (ELD High).
The civic runs completely normal, sounds fine, I don't hear any detonation... SO, I wrote the codes down, cleared them, and drove home. Light hasn't come back, but I'm still a little concerned (especially about the 0171).
Anyone have any ideas? The two codes don't seem related at all?
Thanks!

Re: Threw A Few Codes
Your first code is exhaust related- usually the secondary sensor is the one to go, so its weird that your primary is malfunctioning. Exhaust codes usually come back after several days or weeks- so if it does come back, replace the sensor.
The second code you seem to be less concerned about. I'm not familiar with that one though. Whats ELD?

Re: Threw A Few Codes
The ELD (electric load detector) is that little metal bar in your engine bay fuse box that tells the alternator what to put out.. or something like that.. It's a $20 part that takes all of a half hour to swap out. I don't have the part number off the top of my head (or laying around for that matter), but if you search, you're sure to find it.
I've seen a lot of cases where the ELD code will come in accompanied with an O2 sensor code, and most of the time, the O2 sensor code goes away after replaced the ELD. I'd try that route before worrying about a $100+ sensor.
edit: here ya go

ELD, part number 38255-S5A-003, $20.69 + S&H, comes out to $36 shipped to the US
