Growling Tranny
Growling Tranny
OK, I have seen similiar posts, but here it goes, first time post. I have growling sound when my 05 civic ex coupe manual tranny is engaged. when the clutch is depressed the sound goes away, also you can hear whatever gear is rubbing or loose or whatever slipping in and out, the sound cuts in and out sometimes and other times is constant, but again sound disappears when clutch engaged, please help!! Any thoughts, suggestions??!!??
Re: Growling Tranny
It's one of the bearings going out. I have been driving with the EXACT same sound for well over 2 years now without any adverse effects except that stupid growl. If the sound is really bothering you have it fixed but, I'm warning you it isn't cheap to have the tranny worked on (at least a couple hundred). Otherwise just live with it until it breaks or you sell it.
Re: Growling Tranny
OK, thanks for the reply, a couple hundred doesnt sound so bad. The car is paid off and only has 34k on it. Thinking of putting some performance parts like intake and/ or exhaust, any suggestions???
