clutch

i have a 2003 honda civic ex coupe, 1.7l sohc motor

ok. i am having the problem of my clutch pedal is very stiff or hard to press, and when the car is running i can not get the car to go into gear at all.

i can start the car in a gear though and it will automatically start taking off from a dead stop.

i can move thru the gears fine when the car is not running as well.

Re: clutch

Try a tranny fluid drain and fill. See if that helps at all.

Could be a number of problems otherwise: synchros, bearings, etc..

thats what i was gonna do. i was just seeing if i could get some more ideas on here.

any ideas on what would make it sound like its just spinning, like if i am driving and i am slowing down and push the clutch in, almost like its not engaging kinda thing, it just sounds like the clutch or a bearing is just spinning around inside

Re: clutch

so i found out what it was. it had a daikon clutch in it and it was a dual spring, well one set of springs was completely gone and then one was starting to break. put a act street performance clutch and Pres plate in it, new throw out bearing, and its good ot go now.

but what would cause the springs to just break like that?
