D17A1 to a D17A2 Vtec Help

I bought a 2001 Civic LX that threw a rod. I got a motor out of an 05 EX with Vtec. To make a long story short now I have an EGR and Vtec solenoid with no connector for it. I had to use my factory LX harness due to the EX harness being chopped. What needs to be done for the Vtec to function? I was told that I can get a seperate connection that can very easily be wired in for $100. Will that also have to plug for the EGR? If so where can I get it? If anyone can help I would really appreciate it. Sorry if I posted this in the wrong section of the forum.

just tio let you know, yours is not a mechanical problem, it's a swap, so search in this forum for swaps:
https://www.civicforums.com/forums/7...nduction-swaps
there are plenty of guys asking how to wire the VTEC there.
getting a stock ecu and harness would be one way, though.

I just don't like them on the wrong place, makes a mess to the search function (for the members that show some effort and try to use them, that is )
OP is fine, since he apologized first hand in case it was in the wrong place
