Car wont accelerate!

Car wont accelerate!
It's an '01, automatic transmission. I started noticing the problem in the morning. The car would jerk a little between shifts. At the end of the day it was getting worse. Then all of a sudden the acceleration went out.
If I turn the car off and wait a for a while the acceleration works for a bit, but then gives out. The car doesn't turn off though.
Can someone please help!
