Injector Base Oil Port
Injector Base Oil Port
Hey guys. So I am putting a different engine in my car (same model-D17A1) due to mechanical problems with my old one. Got my old engine out and started moving parts from my old one to the new one. I took off the Intake Manifold and behind the injector base is a channel that had some oil in it. There looks to be an oil port in the cylinder head that leads to the injector base. Why is there a small amount of oil that would have come out of there? What's the purpose of it? Thanks in advance!

Re: Injector Base Oil Port
Oh well, I assume this is something like an EGR/PCV passage or similar to recycle gases back into the intake and probably just had a little blow by which sat in the bottom of the passage.
