Aftermarket Tach

I just bought an aftermarket tach for my car, cuz I don't have one because Honda is so cheap they couldnt put one in the base model. Anyone know how to install it, and if it's an easy job?

Re: Aftermarket Tach

Should be tapping one wire (don't quite know which wire to tap, however) for the RPM input, then finding and tapping a +12VDC wire for any illumination, then grounding the tach to the chassis. Oh, and finding a place to physically mount it, as well.

Re: Aftermarket Tach

You should already have an RPM signal wire in the wire harness. Pull your cluster and check the green connector for the blue wire in pin 20. While you got the cluster pulled might as well do the cluster swap. lol.

Wire colors/pin numbers are on page 4: https://www.civicforums.com/forums/7...faq-video.html

EDIT: Pretty cool place to mount the aftermarket tach: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BLOX-...ts_Accessories
