SO....

Current symptoms:
I live in AZ. Mornings are 90-ish degrees. Afternoons are 110+.
No symptoms at all when AC is not turned on (air can be blowing, but AC button will not be active). Morning commute there is no issue or symptoms. Afternoon commute, when driving with AC on, car drives fine for approx. 5 minutes, air blows cold and idle is normal. After 5 minutes, the cars AC blows warm, and the cars' idle jumps from below 1k up to 2.5k rpm's. Again, after 5 mins, the car returns to normal, cold AC good idle, and repeats this cycle. (When the symptoms occur, the air that is blowing feels more humid, if that helps.)

Here's what's been done so far:

Week 1:
Put in new AC compressor (old one had a missing clutch).
Had "shop-in-corner" recharge the system.
Tightened AC/Alternator belt

Week 2:
Topped off freon until gauge indicated it was at higher level of "good".
Replaced battery (old one had dead cell anyway)

Week 3:
Replaced AC/Alt belt
Removed oil-caked air filter
Tested Valve cover breather hose as symptoms occurred, no changes
Looked over rest of engine as symptoms occurred; belts moving fine, radiator fans going, no unusual vibrations, etc.

At one point my car had a really weird idle during all of this, and the check engine light came on. The code was P0505, which indicated "Idle Control System Malfunction." SO.... where should I start looking now? Cuz everything I have had the know-how for, I have done.

UPDATE: (7/27/10)
My car runs normal when it's no more than 105 degrees.... so wtf!? Is it seriously gonna only do this when it's so ridiculously hot that it's the only time I wish the ac would actually work fine? No fix?

I also just now checked the AC Condenser fan fuse, and it was ok. I though, I have not been able to properly locate the AC Condenser fan that everyone mentions looking at in other threads....

The condenser fan is same place as radiator fan, the condensor fan is smaller, if both turn it is ok.

So you're referring to the two fans that sit on the one side of the radiator? (The space between the radiator and the engine itself)

Yes, there are two fans on the radiator. I think the condensor fan is on the left (if sitting in driver seat) on yours.

Did you do the idle re-learn? You have to do this after you work on just about anything on this car. Is the car overheating?

I know my car is not overheating. the therm needle is at normal temp and does not fluctuate when the car is having its issues. Otherwise... unless it's 106 and over, there is no problem. even if it's 110, but my ac is off.... there is no problem. just happens with ac on and ambient temp at 106 and up. =C

Idle Re-learn:

1. Make sure all electrical items are off.

2. Start the engine,and hold it at 3,000rpm without load (park or neutral) until the radiator fan comes on, or until the engine coolant reaches 194F (normally operating temp).

3. Let the engine idle for about 5 minutes with the throttle fully closed.

NOTE: If the radiator fan comes on, do not include it's running time in the 5 minutes.

- The hotter it gets the harder the A/C has to work. Could be something else in the A/C system like the evaporator, evaporator temp sensor, or receiver/dryer.The moist air is also making me think it might be a headgasket. Sometimes that's a symptom. Just for piece-of-mind I'd check for a blown headgasket.
