I'm having a strange issue with my 2003 Civic LX.

If I use the key instead of the remote entry clicker to unlock the car, my car won't start when I turn the key in the ignition. If I exit the car and lock it and unlock it with the clicker, the car will start when I get in again. (It took quite a while to figure out that this would fix it).

I should also mention that the door lock on the driver's side door is broken, so I was using the key to unlock the passenger's side door, and then pulling up the lock on the driver's door from the inside to unlock it.

Does anyone have any idea why this might be the case? Is there any way to fix it? I'm afraid that my remote entry clicker will run out of power or stop working, and I'll get stuck with my car unable to start. Thanks.

I have a 02 civic sedan and my wife says she is having problems starting her car also. She uses the clicker to open but when she turns the key on to start nothing happens? It never does it for me. If I were you I would replace your battery and fix the lock.
