"KA-PONGK!" when the car moves.
"KA-PONGK!" when the car moves.
From time, to time, when backing up I'll hear a 'ka-PONGK' noise from passenger-side front when stopping up from reverse-movement. That is, I'll be backing up, and brake, and the body-shift seems to create this noise. I'll shift to D, then on the next braking-to-a-stop, the 'ka-PONGK' will occur as I come nearly to a stop, never to be heard again on a forward-moving stop. However, if I reverse again, like backing out of a nose-forward parking space, it'll occur as I stop to to begin moving forward again. Is this a chassis pop, or a caliper issue?

i think its the caliper self adjusting and its a normal function. it will only happen once after moving in either direction and pressing brakes the first time. my car did it since new.

Ok, so, the follow-up is: Shouldn't it happen on BOTH sides? I've only ever heard it happen on the front-passenger side. I didn't read that in the manual...
