I would replace all the gaskets on the EX head before butting it on. You wanna freshen up the head as best you can before dropping it on to avoid any potential problems later on down the road.
You should be replacing the head gasket with your swap. As for the coolant passages, I'm not sure if they are different, but I personally wouldnt run a EX head with an LX gasket and risk blocking anything. Get the EX gasket and give yourself some peace of mind.
I have a brand new EX gasket pack that I never used when doing my head swap. If your interested, I can ship it to you for cheap- it includes EVERYTHING you could ever possibly want to swap out on the head as far as gaskets and seals. PM me if your interested.
