engine revs up before shifting

engine revs up before shifting

i have a 2001 civic ex. my question is that my car jumps up about 200-300 rpm when going from 3rd to 4th the tranny doent slip but it annoying, is this a major problem or is it normal. I just changed the tranny fluid so its not that. what can i do to fix it?

well that is called slipping and yes its an issue. if it only does it before the car warms up, its prolly not an issue for now. if it happens when hot, it means the gears are wearing out and eventually you will need a new trans and it wont shift at all. nothing you can do but keep driving til it breaks. damage already is done to the hardware.
