Re: Cigarette Lighter Burned!!!

It's somewhat easy to get the bezel holding the socket out, I would have a look at the socket and the connector from the back and see if it melted.

Re: Cigarette Lighter Burned!!!

yeah those draw too much current. when i got my ashtray/lighter accessory piece, it actually came with an upgraded pnp wire harness so i could use the lighter. honda doesnt even recommend using a lighter in the stock 12v socket cause it can cause the wires to burn up. its only for low draw devices and it says this in the owner manual. as for what you can do, prolly the only way is to replace the whole wiring wherever it goes to from the socket plug to the fuse box i guess. or just hotwire the gps straight to the battery on a switch or something.

Re: Cigarette Lighter Burned!!!

well now this is pretty stupid and sad.. but when i reopened it up.. i pulled out the connection to the socket.. so THATS why i got no power coming from the lighter...

well luckily.. nothing was burn.. it was me being so scared that i forgot to plug the darn thing back >.<...

NOWW.... since i pulled out the fuse on the ignition coil since its 15V to test out to see if the lighter still work.. my Engine error light is on..

I went to a body shop and they had 4 error coming from my OBD reading.. and they said its goign to cost LOTS of money.. Can someone help me on this... i dont wana pay >.< i don't think i broke anything by pulling a fuse out..

haha i love stupid, money hungry shops. disconnect the battery and problem solved. if they were nice, they wouldve just erased the codes for you and sent you home.
