Instrument Gauges / AC won't work

I have a '03 Honda Civic. I recently brought my car to a Honda shop and had them install aftermarket fog lights I bought off ebay. They told me they don't work because the switch or button you press to turn the foglights on/off is faulty. I contacted the company and they sent me a new one. After popping the panel under the steering wheel and trying the new button, they still didn't work. I check all the wires I could with a multimeter and found this one wire's connection was loose and when it was loose the lights didnt work and when it made connection they worked. So i opened the male connector to make it fatter to get a better connection.

Now that the fog lights work, I find that my entire instrument panel (expect for the fuel and temp gauge) has no lighting. The lights for my climate control unit and A/C, recirculate, and defrost buttons are not lit either. I also tried my A/C tonight and it didn't work!

Please help, did I blow a fuse? When the lights are off the gauges work and lightup. Would you recommend taking it back to the Honda dealership and blaming it on them?

Check the dimmer **** when lights are on (twist to right)

Check the connections recently made for the fogs that are for the illumination of the fog light switch. That connection may come out of the fusebox as well. Factory colors are RED and RED/BLACK. Not likely the same for 3rd party wire colors.

Re: Instrument Gauges / AC won't work

Thanks Craig.

dimmer **** was first thing i tried, it works, but the gauges still dont.

per your advise i checked the connections made to the fog light switch illumination, i think the wire was a brown/yellow (did it a couple days ago). The connections are good to the fuse box. i still dont know what's wrong :/ i can still drive it, i know my car well enough to know roughly what speed im going and what the rpm's are at, but its just really annoying. I think i might take it back to the Honda dealership and ask them to try and fix it in a week or two. any idea what they would need to replace and what it would cost?

If you know which ones are for the fog switch illumination try taking them loose and see if it works then.
