p1129 Code HELP!

I've got a P1129 code on my car.. From what I've seen, it's a MAP reading higher than normal.. or something like that..

My boost gauge reads abnormally high for idle (which is lower than normal, the idle, that is) and my car is running rich as hell to compensate for it (i'm assuming).. anyone got anything that may help? Had I not had the boost gauge, I would have thought that replacing the MAP sensor would fix it, but like I said, my manifold vacuum actually does read higher than what I'm used to. Idle's a bit rough and noticeable power is gone from the bottom end, and quite possibly the whole RPM band.

I need to get it fixed before wednesday..

Manifold vacuum reading about 2"-5" at idle with a 10.0-12.0 A/F ratio

Idle's lower than normal, actually has stalled itself out a few times

Just showing that engine RPMs is about 700 at idle from a normal 1000-ish. VAFC-II doesn't control anything.. It just monitors RPM, throttle position, and battery voltage, now.. effectively disconnected anything it possibly could have controlled.

car doesn't have it's turbo installed.. just a make-shift intake made from the charge piping with the BOV kept shut. I kept the A/F and boost gauge installed because it'd be too much of a pain to remove

Re: p1129 Code HELP!

spounds like u need a new map sensor, map sensor reads manifold pressure, and if its low then the a/f mixture will be wrong. replace it before u have more problems

Re: p1129 Code HELP!

hrmm.. fair enough on the "low" idle.. but it dips down hella low when I get off the gas, and it has stalled itself out twice

Re: p1129 Code HELP!

check the IAC valve and throttle body, make sure they are clean. that would be a likely cause of idle stall when youre not pressing the gas.

Re: p1129 Code HELP!

Fixed it! I was gonna dedicate today to doing some maintenance on my car. I was just going to flush the coolant system and replace the thermostat, inspecting anything and everything I touched, until last night's problems came up.

Anyways, I searched a bit and some stuff I found on here (coincidentally posted by you, gearbox.. lol) led to clean or replace the IAC valve. I took the TB off, cleaned the crap out of it, took off the IAC valve, cleaned the crap out of that, and with everything out of the way, I found a vacuum line to my vacuum manifold cracked and brittle and crap. It had the texture of tree bark. I replaced that line, cleared any codes my ECU was throwing, did the whole coolant thing, changed my spark plugs for ***** and giggles, and took my car out for a test drive.

I think my boost gauge indicating higher than normal was merely a coincidence because now I believe that the gauge itself is messed up.. I drove my car like I stole it, being the little riceboy I am, and no more codes were thrown, and my coolant system stopped acting up like it did when I was driving from nor-cal to vegas

We'll see what happens in the next few days tho.. lol
