i have a 2001 (2001-2005 series) 1.6 vtec civic se manual (UK model). When I engage it in first gear and release clutch there is a click sound that comes from under the stering. the sound only comes once when moving forward from stationary and not when changing gears in the moving car.

the click sound comes just once when i engage the car in first gear and release the clutch. and not when i move into other gears. the car has just 26k miles on the odometer.

It kinda sounds like its the throw out bearing. I had min replaced because of that

r u sure as the clutch is fine??? its a click sound when the car moves forward and comes once and not when in 3rd 4th or 5th gear.

Its like a spring realising.... mine does this only after moving off for the first time after car has been stood switched off.

I dont think its a problem myself... everything sounds fine no noise 82k....

Same thing here, I find it's when I go from reverse to forward, I can get it to happen over and over and over like something is popping backwards, then forwards, then back....

maybe thats it then. like i said only comes when the car moves forwad from stationary and not when reversing. its not clutch spring as pressing and releasing the clutch in neutral doesnt create the noise. it also comes sometimes when moving from 1st to 2nd but not when moving into 3, 4 , or 5th gear.
