friction plates in clutch...

hey people...sorry im makin a new thread because i havent got much time 2 look in all the topics but about 30 minutes ago...i was driving home and as soon as i hit the corner on my street a car was backing up so i breaked let the car go and when i hit the gas a little it made this crazy sound and didnt move...made the same sound when i put it in park...doesnt go backward of forward and nothing is leaking...my boy across the street said its the friction plates in the clutch...i was wondering if anybody has advice or knows exactly whats going on...and what can i do about this...i cant be without my car lol

Well, if you are talking about friction plates (plural) Im assuming you have an automatic tranny?

yeah ive had it for a while now...im not much payin attention 2 racing or all that yet because im in school...i mean i do race occasionally not gonna lie lol...but it treated me good so far til now...even with my bushings kinda ****ed up...its just im not sure if its the friction plates

Ok, now knowing that u have an auto... it sucks to be u. But seriously, most autos have 5 clutch packs (Low/Reverse:2/4:UD:OD:Rev) with several friction discs in each pack. Did u try to put it in low and second also with no movement? If thats the case, I would bet that one of your holding/one-way clutches has gone bad or you have no hydraulic pressure.
