Aem uego help

I just installed the Wideband Uego In my car and ran into some problems, First of all it says hook up to a switched power source.. i'm not an electrician hahaha i hooked it up to some random RED wire under the dash and it started working, but oddly.... It worked even though the car was off with a reading of 15.2AFR, how can it read that with the engine off? Anyways, If anyone has encountered anything like this when they were wiring up their Uego can ya please give me some guidance here. I don't know where to wire the thing in properly, Behind the Headunit??? / behind the glovebox??? / under the steering column??? Any help would be much appreciated.

Re: Aem uego help

instead of hookin up the power to some random red wire rofl... splice it into the accessory plug [aka cig lighter]. the red wire there only has voltage when the car is on which will fix your problem. another easy way is to stick your power wire into a fuse holder then stick the fuse over the wire. for example if you stick your aem uego power wire into the headlight fuse holder your wideband will only work with the headlights on. put the wire into a power source that only has current when the car is on.

rep me if this helped you

Re: Aem uego help

ya what he said.......don't just grab a wire & hook it up? The red is power, black is ground.......I used my 12v plug for all my gauges. It's fuse protected & I don't need a 12v plug. The white & blue wires are for AFR outputs....to like a engine management system....ect.....

Someone know how to connect the AEM UEGO to the emanage blue?

You suppose to buy an adapter that goes on the option port. But I have the adapter that is for the boost pressure sensor that goes into the same option port, with the same three wires.

I just want to know that someone that have it connect tell me in wich wires I must connect the wideband.

Example: connect the white wire from the UEGO to the first (upper) wire of the option port, etc.
