Clank under passenger front wheel
Hey guys, I've been noticing my 01 Civic makes a clanking noise right around the passenger side front wheel (at least that's where I think its coming from). It seems to me that it might be suspension related because it happens when my front right wheel goes over bumps or large cracks on the road. The wierd thing is, is that it happens only once per drive. It happens every morning when I pull out of the garage and every evening when I go back into the garage after work-- on both occasions it happens when my front right wheel goes from the street to the uphill driveway pavement into the garage. Finally, if it doesnt happen coming out of the garage, it will happen during that drive when I take a fast/steep turn, it will clank during the turn.
I have an aftermarket Tein suspension (coilovers).
Any thoughts on what I should check/look for?
Thanks!

umm... odd...
prop her up and make sure the spring isn't turned or anything. should be up against this little piece of metal to stop it from moving, but ive seen em work loose and make alot of noise when they move.
other than that... body flexing? idk... lol

happens to me everytime i turn. its either strut mount bearings or maybe worn or dry sway bar bushings. its not a huge deal and if it is, the noise will continue to get worse.

I think it has gotten worse over the past few years. Is there a way to repair/replace the bearings or brushings if they are worn and dry? Also, how can I make sure that's the case? Just prop it up and take the wheels off?

Re: Clank under passenger front wheel
well the sway bar bushings are under the car, so you can just take a look and see if there are any cracks. may also be the big control arm compliance bushings also visible from under the car. theres a small possibility it might be a wheel bearing too, or a ball joint. you can jack the car up and wiggle the wheel. there shouldnt be any play moving it side to side. also check the endlinks that hold the sway bar. sometimes they snap too.

Re: Clank under passenger front wheel
Thanks for all your help guys! I propped up the car on a lift and noticed the control arm bushel is completely busted and is letting the control arm of the front right wheel clank against the chasis when i go over bumps. I ordered the part online for 7 bucks (51391-S5A-024). Has anyone had any experience replacing it on their civic?
