Thumbs down IAT Sensor MISSING !!! Damn 2nd hand Dealers!

OK, so i bought my Civic about 5 months ago... was changing the air filter and noticed a hole in the top airbox where the air filter goes (D17a Engine - Stock)... after some research i found that its where the IAT sensor goes. i have realized that this most probably is messing with my fuel consumption... but in the long term i have fears that my engine is just gonna die one day after breathing dirty air cos its an open hole!!!

What should my next step be to try prevent this? (car might have been driving without this for a while...)

AM I SCREWED OR IS THERE HOPE???

the connector should be hanging in the bay somewhere. the sensor youre gonna have to buy unless its attached to the connector by some chance. should be near where the throttle body is cause that wire is not very long.

why didnt u check for somting to be wrong when u saw the check engine light on on the test drive? i would have said " buy a sensor and put it in. reset the light THEN i'll buy it. "

Re: IAT Sensor MISSING !!! Damn 2nd hand Dealers!

i bet the sensor is still plugged into the harness then and dangling in the engine bay near the air box. if it was not there, engine light would be on guaranteed.

Re: IAT Sensor MISSING !!! Damn 2nd hand Dealers!

if it doesnt fit snug in the airbox, you need to get the rubber grommet ring to put in the airbox hole first.
