Weatherstripping Help?
i have an 02 coupe and it whisltes pretty bad inside coming from the front of the roof...i believe the whislte is from the weatherstripping being worn from the blazing sun here in Socal cause the weatherstripping gets hot and just becomes really flexible and loose so i think i want to change the weatherstripping where the windshield and the roof meet at the top and also change the weatherstripping around my sunroof....
so.... how do i replace those weatherstripping does it just come off by pulling on it?? and to put it back on do i use any kind of sealant or anything to help it stick??
Replies would be appreciated!! Thanks

Re: Weatherstripping Help?
You could try temporary wide masking tape over the entire top strip to see if the wind noise goes away and narrow down the source.
I just had my windshield replaced and they install a new top moulding, It is possible it may be a one use item.
The makeshift parts manual I have shows the strip at around $12-15 The seals for the sunroof seem more complex (many small seals)

Ideally you can just pull it out
Though I think you should make sure that is your problem before you attack the sunroof. You don't want to find out its just a whistling noise coming from your nose, or from the glove box.

oh okay i just thought since the word temporary was in tsb i figured they expire...but yeah 36k, im pretty far past that haha, but am i the only one having this problem???
Re: Weatherstripping Help?
u can try using weatherstripping sealant, comes in a tube like silicon caulk, and have to use the same gun, but if it doesnt work, ull have to get a whole new weatherstrip, have the windsheild pulled out and have it resealed by a professional, but if u do decide to use the sealant, use sparingly, and be careful, it makes one hell of a mess if u dont. all u have to do is peel back the current weatherstrip, and spread under it with the caulk gun, then press the weatherstrip back down
Re: Weatherstripping Help?
id go to like napa honestly, they have the most chemicals and sealants, i wouldnt buy parts there, but sealants and chemicals yes. just ask for weatherstripping sealant
