Keyless Entry Problem.
Keyless Entry Problem.
Okay, just started having a problem with the keyless entry on my 01 EX auto coupe. I tried searching but found nothing.
Here's the background on my problem. When I press lock or unlock on my car the parking lights flash as they normally would, but the locks do nothing.
Ocassionally I can get the passenger door to unlock, but neither will lock. If I manually lock the doors, then the horn will beep when I press the lock button twice.
If I use the electric lock switch inside the car door, the passenger side locks and unlocks, but the drivers side does neither.
Not exactly sure what the problem is, as I can tell the remote is communicating with the car just fine, but the locks are not cooperating.
Also, I tried disconnecting the battery terminal to see if a could reset the ecu, and that did not help.
Thanks, for taking the time to read this post.

Re: Keyless Entry Problem.
When attempting does the drivers side make any noise ??
If you hold the lock **** can you feel anything ?
The drivers door has a switch that tells the system if it is locked or unlocked.
My 1st thoughts are drivers side actuator...The test is to briefly apply voltage to terminals and observe operation.

Re: Keyless Entry Problem.
"briefly"^^
dont hold it in the open position for any length of time, its designed for a quick burst of energy to lock/unlock the door.
by holding it to long will cause it to overheat and damage the solenoid.
