overheated and car won't start

yesterday my 1993 Civic DX overheated. When I parked it, white smoke was coming out from the under the hood. Upon opening the hood I noticed that the hose connected to the fan was leaking. I put more fluid just to check if fluid would leak from hose and obviously it did. Once I was done messing around I tried to start the car and it did. For what ever reason, I turned it off then about 5 mins later I tried to start it again and to my amazement it DIDN'T !!! So does any One know whats wrong with it ? Distributor ? Could it be ? It was replaced about 7 years ago ? How long do they last ? Well just a little description, but when I try to start the car there is a clicking noise and my lights on the dash board do turn on......Any help would be appreciated ! ! ! Thanks

Oh and would you trust buying parts on EBAY ?

Thanks

Re: overheated and car won't start

does the battery work? stupid question but it could be something happened to it. if you hear clicking, theres not enough battery power to turn the starter. coolant might have spilled on stuff too.

I tried to jump it and that didn't work! I did have alot of coolant that erupted all over the place. what can the coolant do to the engine?

well it can mess up sensors...just let it sit overnight and try tomorrow. check the plugs, wires, and distributor for damage and refill coolant to the system. try and see where the coolant went and check the sensor plugs to make sure they are dry. get a compression check on the engine too once you get it to crank.
