Clicking sound coming from the Gear Box?
I own a 2002 civic EX, automatic and its got 60 miles. The problem is when I turn my car on and the gear is on Park(P) there is clicking sound coming from the gear box, and when I step on the brake the clicking stops. When I put on Drive(D) the sound is gone is as well. The only time I get the clicking sound is when the car is idling on Park(P), and when I step on the brake it stops. What do you guys/girls think it could be? any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated

Re: Clicking sound coming from the Gear Box?
it sounds like the brake safety switch is messing up. its supposed to only make that click once when you are in park and you press the brake pedal. its like a lockout so you cant shift gears unless your foot is on the brake. the wire might be grounding out or something hard to say.
