Re: Idle problems.. uhh Help please.

Another eventful update.

Today I went down to the Junkers where I purchased the TB. I picked up the correct TH (dx type) got the ECU and ignition with key, matching vins (their computer shows they were all pulled from the same car)

Got home, installed the New/correct(?) TB, started the car and the same crap.

So then I installed the Ignition and ECU. Figured my problems would be solved WRONG. The car doesn't even want to start. It cranks, but doesn't start.

So sense I have ;

2x ecu
2x ignitions
3x throttle body

I figure I would try different combinations.

1st, New ignition, old ECU, new TB. - Oddly it starts with the same ol' problem.

2nd, NEw ignition, New ecu EX TB - Doesn't start, only cranks.

Every other combination I tried using the new ECU doesn't start.
Every combination I tried with the OLD Ecu starts.

Go figure that one. I'm to the point of pouring gasoline into the interior and setting this sob, pos, fubar of a car on fire.

but before that anyone have any ideas ?

I'm beyond frustrated, Now I figure I need a new wire harness.

Re: Idle problems.. uhh Help please.

Update :

So today I reinstalled the Engine harness after taking it out and doing a continuity check. Next was the inside harness, but before doing that I figured I would take out the Clifford alarm.

Upon taking out the alarm I found a green 16 pin connector under the driver dash just hanging out. I can't fand anywhere where it would connect. I was thinking maybe some type of factory OEM alarm.

Under there is alsmo a bracket which 1 bolt could go threw, I figure what every this connector gos to would have been bolted to that bracket.

Here are some pictures :

16 Pin connector

any help with this ?

Re: Idle problems.. uhh Help please.

yes thats exatly what that is. it's a factory alarm. the option is u buying the alarm brain and pluging it in to that conector and mounting it to that bolt.

b4 u take a molitolv coktail to it i got dibs on it. i'd rather take a trashed civic than see some one destroy it.

how closly have u inspeted the engine? i'd change the crankshaft sensor and cam sensor and inspect the wiering to from them. w/o those sensor the enngine will not run piriod. that could be your problem w/ the new ecu. the old could have a short in it mimicking the sensors. IDK but thats where i'd go next.

Re: Idle problems.. uhh Help please.

SOLVED:

I'm not sure if it was the Ecu, Key, Ignition or Relays but its fixed.

I went today and purchased another ECU, Ignition, Key and the FP and Immobilizer Relays. Came home and installed everything:

Turned the Key: Accepts the key. Great!

Started the car: Ruff Idle and cel on.

Inspected engine bay: Found I forgot to connect IAT plug and coil plug wasn't connected fully. Connected everything, runs fine.

Let Idle for 10: shut off the ignition, restarted.

Yes It Revs!: Gave throttle, it'll go to redline!

Damn Cel: I went to Autozone, rented the Codescanner. I connected! Cel was on for the IAT sensor not being plugged in.

Erase the code: I erased the code and everything is fine now.

---

SO now what do I do with the other ECU, Key, Ignition and TB ?

Re: ::: SOLVED ::: Idle problems.. uhh Help please.

I;m just happy its running.

Though now there is another problem.

When taking off at high rpm or when providing throttle as if you were passing, their is a loud clunk noise. Sounds like its comming from the tranny, i'm not 100% sure though.

I checked some of the suspension, it all seems fine. A weird thing I found is on top of the coilovers is s large metal plate that is just flopping around.

Solved :

Bad front motor mount. I had some 80a poly and I just filled it. Now I can take off hard and no problem except wheel spin.
