Lets say a guy bought a 2005 honda civic, LX 4dr, MT.

Lets say it was a salvage title, and lets say he got it for cheap, or so he thought.

Then lets say he needed a new front subframe....

Anyone have any ideas what I.....uhhh, I mean this guy should do?

how much did you get it for? And for sub frame i would check local junk yards

I am not sure if it was a good move, or a really dumb one.

I got a 2005 with 47k miles for 7grand.

If I can fix it, its a good move, if not .........

It got hit on the front pass corner, they replaced the control arms, wheel, tire and fender.....but then gave up when they got to the subframe and sold it midway.

The front subframe is bent and the motor mounts are broke, the battery mount is also toasted.

What do you think? Any hope?

What model/type of subframe will work for me?

I did some searching but I am still not sure.....will an 2005 EX subframe work?

There are two people selling 7th gen EX subframes in the for sale section on this site, both don't know if an EX subframe will work in an 7th gen, LX, MT car. Does anyone know?

Well the only thing different engine wise in an EX is the head, and people swap LX to EX heads all the time. And they dont change subframes. So the only other difference is the tranny. if its an EX MT, i do not see a single reason why it would not fit.

So an EX subframe will fit my 05LX, however I need to make sure its from a manual tranny car....because my 05 is an MT as well.
