Shifting problem
Shifting problem
ok I own a 2002 honda civic ex and every time I shift I hear a clunk like as if two blocks where hitting each other. It's a low sound not like a high pitch. But it's extremely loud as when right after I shift I hit the gas.?? Is this liek a transmission problem a clutch? I do not know
Re: Shifting problem
yeah i don't knwo it may be my trans mission it happens when I accelerate after a shift but i can hear it either under me or somewhere around below the pedals or seat
Re: Shifting problem
okay then, thats a different story then....
it might be the motor mounts, torque dampener, etc...
way to do this is you need 2 people!
With car with EMERG brake on!!
1 guy in car to hit FWD, REV ,FWD, REV ,FWD, etc....
as the 2nd guy stands with hood open and looks/listens where it is coming from?

Re: Shifting problem
really, id check the motor mounts, they are the likely culprit, if its not them, it may be an axel shaft.... btw do u have any mods, like cai or strut bar?? cuz i had both at one point and they hit during shifts, causing a similar sound
