engine light = uh oh
okay, so i am getting ready to take my car into my mechanic to get its oil change and some new spark plugs. I was driving the other day in some area that i didnt know very well when i ran over a speed bump. Normally, i dont have any issues but on that dreadful day, i heard a godawful scraping noise when i went over the bump (my car is also lowered). The next day or so, my check engine light came on. Is this because i could of scraped my exhaust really badly? or is it because i didnt get my oil changed yet? the car has roughly 110,000 on it.

Take the car to autozone while the light is on. They will check the code for free and tell you what it is. Then you can come back and as the wizard what the code is.
I will be nice and include a link to the wizard.

check engine light doesnt have anything to do with oil, prolly just an o2 sensor, might have nothing to do with scraping the speed bump, like stated above by alpha, just go to autozone and have em check it
