...and why did it just come on for the first time yesterday when i turned the car off. i went back out to check it a little later and it was off. i havent seen anything about this little red light in the manual. or maybe i didnt look hard enough.


should i be concerned? my battery died from leaving the car on too long thethe other day and had to be jumped. i dont know if that coulda caused it.

also while on topic of the battery dying, if im not mistaken the maintenance req light will flash 5 times due to readiness codes? which ive read will program the codes while driving after some time?

I don't have one there.. and according to AmbulanceMonkee, he doesn't have one either..

If you got the alarm option with your car, the dealership has the option to mount the alarm light where ever they please.. My dealership started to mount it down between my coin holder/ash-tray thing and my hood pop latch but my dad threw a bitch fit and they mounted it in one of the empty switch slots next to the lighter adapter. I then got rid of the red one and put in a blue scanner bar..

well, Just to be sure, I'd take off the center console (not hard.. 2 pop-clips, 2 bolts, and 2 screws) and trace the wires leading to the LED..

Hmm.. if they installed your alarm like they did mine (assuming you have one..), the alarm.. "brain" thingy.. lol.. would be somewhere under the driver side dash hidden behind the black plastic panel that just clips on under the steering column. If the wires from the LED lead into that using some sort of electrical 2-pin connector, then there's your answer..

So yea.. trace the wires and if you're confused about what it goes to, take pictures along the way and post them.. I'm sure if I can't help you figure it out, some electrical guru might be able to

if the light is on all the time yuor alarm is in valet mode. do you have the transmitters for it?

no transmitters, and the light just started coming on, but only when the car is off. but its not all the time either that it comes on.
