Car Temperature when AC is on.
Car Temperature when AC is on.
I just noticed this yesterday and was wondering if I should have it looked at or any ideas. I was sitting in the car with the AC on waiting for my girlfriend to come out for 5 minutes when I noticed that my car temperature was going up. It usually sits a little below half way and I say it moved to where it was almost a quarter higher then normal. I turned the AC off and began driving and it was fine and moved back down. I then sat for another 10 minutes( Yes I was waiting awhile) and it didn't move at all and sat at the normal level.
After the night was over I went home and sat in the front of the house with the AC on and after 5 minutes it started rising again but very slowly. I had my radiator replaced last May and I went outside and didn't smell any coolant or see any in the engine bay.
Too be honest I haven't really sat with the AC for longer than a stop light or so. I don't really use the AC and I am just wondering if this is normal or I may have a problem. No check light engine came on or anything. Thanks

Re: Car Temperature when AC is on.
with hot refrigerant running through the condenser, it will run up the temps because the air running through the radiator is warmer. Keep an eye on it, make sure its not through the roof. Make sure the fan is kicking on

Thanks. I will take a look at it tomorrow to make sure the radiator fans are coming on. I would think so since the car would get hot with or without the AC. Hopefully for me this isn't a problem.
