Gauge/Instrument Panel Lights
Gauge/Instrument Panel Lights
I was having some trouble...recently (a couple of weeks ago) I got a new headunit installed in my 01 civic (coupe). I tried doing it myself but got lost on the wiring so eventually I took it to a shop to have them do it. A few days later I discovered that when I turn on the headlights, the instrument panel (speedometer, gauges, etc.) doesn't light up, which makes driving at night rather less exciting. The only things that light up are the thing that tells you what gear you're in, and the indicator lights (for example, check engine light or parking brake light). I was thinking maybe if it was something easy, like something got accidentally disconnected, I could save myself the $100 or so it would cost to go get it fixed...anyone have any guesses or suggestions?
Thanks,
-Phillip

Yeah, go back to where you had it installed and tell them the problem- they seem to have caused it. By law you have the upper hand, they will take your unit out and figure out the problem and if they cant they'll probably pay the bill for another shop to do it.

Re: Gauge/Instrument Panel Lights
Small lamps fuse in under-hood box, You will need to resolve wiring issue before replacing fuse. (take all of the dimmer/illumination connections loose from install)
