01 civic noise problem

I have a 01 civic ex manual. For the past few months, everytime i back up, reverse, turn the wheel left or right. Basically when the car is moving in different ways. I hear and feel and light popping sound, or like if metal and metal are touching each other, something possible loose, idk. towards the front of the car. Some where in the engine bay. Anyone have any ideas other then bad cv joints?
