Need Help - Brought to 4 Mechanics & No One Knows Why
Over the last few mos, my 2002 Civic EX has hesitant acceleration at a slow speed. I have to press very hard on the gas, and then it guns forward (making for pretty unsafe driving at stop signs and lights). Twice when idling it has stalled.
I have brought it to 4 mechanics and none could find anything wrong. Only the last one actually had the issue happen to him, but found no reason. He said it just needed a tune-up, changed the air filter and plugs for $100 bucks and checked the levels and said it "ran great" the next day. I had the car for the weekend and it still had all of the same issues. I don't know if I should bring it back to him and have him take it to his "computer guy" or just take it to a dealer in the hopes that a diagnostic check that doesn't rely on just looking under the hood would help.
It's getting to the point where I feel a bit unsafe driving it. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!

Ja, vielleicht es ist deine Kraftstoffilter. OK, you may not speak German, I'm just going off your SN. Either the fuel filter (Kraftstoffilter) or it may be a couple other things. Honestly, I would take to a dealer and have them hook it up to their diagnostic system. It could be anywhere from a stuck injector, to bad plugs, to one of your coils going bad, or even something messed up in your ECU. Unfortunately you've got one of those problems that could have about 10 different causes. I'll assume that the other four mechanics checked the obvious mechanical bits, throttle cable, throttle body, plugs, and so on. It could even be your TPS (Throttle Position Sensor). If there is a signal not getting to the ECU, when the throttle is open in any of the number of positions, that could explain the car not saying, "Oh. She's got it floored. Gotta get some fuel to the injectors so we can smoke that 1971 Pinto when the light turns green". Hope that helps and I hope you don't owned at the dealership.
