Unhappy Yet another tranny question/concern....

Hey there! I have a question about my transmission. I have a 2004 LX, 5 speed, with 58000 kms on it. For what seems like a long time, when you are driving in 2nd, the shifter vibrates pretty bad and seems to move alot when you rev. Also, when you put the car into 2nd, it doesnt seem to go in as easily as the other gears. I have been to honda twice and both times they said threre was nothing wrong with it, but I am not so sure. Any input would be great! Thanks!

Re: Yet another tranny question/concern....

Im not sure abt the vibration in the shifter thingy ... but My reverse gear became tuff a few months ago ... i showed it to honda and other mechanics no one found nething .... everytime i wud try to put the reverse gear it wud be hard or grinding agaisnts something but surprisingly it went away in 2 weeks ....

the same thing happend with my friends 1st gear and i told him to leave it alone for 2 weeks ... 1 week later he called me up and told me i was right ... so i guess ur problem is similar ....

Re: Yet another tranny question/concern....

not sure how much this will help, but I have a problem with my 2nd gear also. It pops out of gear and sometimes doesn't go all the way in. If I have my hand on it after shifting into 2nd, it will grind away while it tries to pop out. I'm still fighting with Honda to fix it. Most people believe it is a problem with the synchro. I found a technical service bulletin about this - 01-081.
