The other day my doors were iced up real bad so I don't know if this is a result of me pounding on them or whether someone tried to break into my car. Maybe someone here can help me determine? At any rate I need to fix it now!
What I found this morning was the lock piece where you put your key in to open the door (tumbler) sitting back in the door about 1". I could still get the key in it but it just wobbles and I can use it to open or lock the door because it isn't stationary enough. I don't know what in there could have broken but I am trying to find the right part to order. Looking at this drawing does anyone have an idea what could have broke:

I don't see anything like someone took a screwdriver to it or hit it so I have no idea how this happened. Maybe tugging on the door when I had ice??


#10 ..... Is that a clip that maybe holds the tumbler/lock in place? Maybe it fell off?
I assume I have to take the entire door apart to get at this?

i had the same problem as you. i think mine was a result of the multiple break-ins on my passenger side, but for a while, the lock was recessed about an inch, and then once when it was iced up, the lock fell out. the guy at the dealership said the clip falls out a lot, but when i opened up my door, i was able to stuck the tumbler back in the hole, and it's fine. you should be able to take the door panel off yourself and just stick it back in the hole. if the clip fell out, it's probably in the door frame somewhere still, so you probably don't even need to order anything. if it's more serious than that...i dunno. good luck
