yo, i was driving today and then out of the blue, my car goes out of gear and the drive light starts flashing. I have a 2002 lx a/t and just got my tranny replaced a year ago. Luckily, it happened right behind a transmission shop and they told me that it was most likely a electrical problem (fuse blown, burnt wire, etc.) and that when you put it in drive, it starts out in 3rd gear. I can drive the car if i use the shifter starting from first gear and work my way up but I WANT MY DRIVE BACK! If you have any info on what this could be or if it may be a recall on our tranny's, please let me know because this really pisses me off. Thanks and have a nice day.

in the manual it says when the light flashes its a tranny problem, and take it to get serviced... i have the same problem wuith the light flashing, but mine is a cluster electrical problems with teh green harness in the cluster... try taking off the trim, drive and if it flashes. stick you fingers through and wiggle teh (right) green wire harness
