Loud whining when put in reverse on cold start

This just started this morning but has been doing it all day. I start it up throw it in reverse and hit the brake and hear it and it dont stop until i let off the brake and then it shuts off. It sounds like a freakin dying cat or something...

its not your tranny, its your wear indicators on your brakes...

My tranny and power steering pump have been whining when i first start it for the last week or so, since it's been about 6 degrees here. I'm attributing it to the cold, but your issue does sound like the brakes.
