Rep Power: 0 Questions on engine noises and maintenance of 2005 Civic VP Sedan
Hello everyone,
happy to be onboard! I have a few questions on a 2005 Civic Value Package Sedan I bought last year:
1) The manual calls for 5W-20 engine oil every 10,000 miles. Should I stikc to this type of oil and oil change interval if I want to run the car for a long period of time (over 200,000 miles)?
2) The manual also says that AT fluid and filter, spark plugs and coolant don't have to be changed until 110,000 miles. Is this recommendable? If not, what are the recommended intervals.
3) There are two noises I have noticed. One is a high pitched, faint whining noise that goes with the revs that has been there from day one. The dealer says it is normal. Is this true?
4) The other is a dull tapping noise. I have not adressed this yet at the dealer. Could this be the engine mounts?
Thanks for your help!
