Engine cuts out in civic

I have a 2004 civic EX manual transmission. On the way into work this morning, every few minutes or so i would hear a clicking noise coming from under neath the glove box area and the engine would cut out for a split second and come back without stalling, but causing some bucking. The tac drops to 0 and the check engine light comes on, then goes off when the engine comes back to life. Also, my maintenance required light has been on and it will not go off from following the instructions in the manual. Any idea whats going on?

Sounds like you may have a wire going to ground. Have you checked all of the wires going through the firewall below the glove box? Does it do this while in idle also?

have you replaced your battery or touched any ground wires or wires connected to the battery. I say this because I had this same thing happen to me because I forgot to completely tighten the battery terminals. Also, is there acid build up on the battery terminals because they may need to be cleaned. Very weird and interesting things happen when ground wires and battery terminal wires dont have proper contact.
