Broken side mirror - can I use glue to fix???

Hi,

The whole passenger side mirror piece was busted off my 2001 civic lx the other day. I was wondering if I'd be able to just glue the plastic back together with automotive goop or something if that would hold up. Or should I just get a whole side mirror piece? Any recommendations of glues or experience is appreciated!! Thanks.

I have a lot of faith in Goop brand glues. But... I think you should replace it the unpainted/power mirrors are reasonably priced IMO.

I say replace too, mine was an unpainted, power mirror and it only cost me $100 brand new from Honda. I bet you could find one at a wrecker for half that. Try www.car-parts.com

ISomeone kicked off my mirror a year and a half ago - I have a 2003. The outside housing was not damaged just the support and brace. I used an epoxy glue and it has been fine.

If it is the internal black structural plastic, then use ABS glue from any home improvement store. I'm not sure if the exterior shell of the mirror is made of ABS plastic also. Check for the stamping imprint "ABS" inside the mirror shell. If it is, then ABS glue will work on it too.

You can't even tell that it has been glued even when you look close up!
