carbon fiber hood damage

I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this, but here goes:

I recently got my hands on a carbon fiber hood that is pretty banged up. There's scratches on the surface and parts that are cloudy-looking like it fell on a rocky floor or something. It looks okay at best and I've only washed it off a little.

My question is: Is there any way I can fix this hood's scratches/cloudiness(?) aside from just washing the car? Any recommendations or experiences will really help me out. Thanks a lot!
