vtec problem

whats up everyone i just picked up an 89 si crx with a sir b16a last week, and the vetec doesn't seem to be kicking at all, and i don't know were to begain, any ideas would be really helpfull thanks

well...i dont think this site will be helpfull. since this is a 7th gen site...the B16 didnt come in a 7th gen. but anyway...ill be more than happy to help you since i owned a 4th gen. now...which ECU are you running? it better be a PR3 or a P75 or a P28. if anything else then it wont work. the motor willl run it just wont be engaging Vtec. also if you do have any other ECU then i suggest you crack it open and find out if its Chipped or not. if not then you wont have Vtec.

ya i know this isn't the site for that type of question, but since i am registered for my 7th gen, i figured you guys would still be able to help, and i appricate the help, i check oil its full, but i am thinking it mind need a good service, oil, tune up, and hopefully that will help
