Problem Relating To Door Panel

Heres the problem.

The first picture shows the area from a front view.

The second pic is the back of the door panel behind is circled in pic1 and is where the problem is. In order to get my fabric down and take the handle piece off i had to cut out the plastic that was connecting the handle part to the panel (plastic pieces are circled in red on pic 2)

The Green circles on pic 2 show where i cut out the plastic molding that held it together. Now everytime i pull the handle part to close my door it pulls off the panel. How can i get these pieces to stay together now??

dont really understand what you mean get a bracket? the piece that is circled in first pic pulls away from entire door panel. Not sure how to place a bracket there.

Didnt wanna use that because i am taking into consideration i will probably have to take this apart again and screws are just easier to deal with, i didnt want the tape sticking to the fabric and pulling that off, and the panel is a flat piece and would work with with tape but the handle has just a thin edge that connects to the panel.
