car hesitates when floored

my car has deveolped a huge bog when i get on the gass suddenly. it waits a second and acts like its misfireng and junps a few time and then goes like hell. whats wrong? is it missfireing? could it be the throttle. i just replaced the headgasket and it developed this issue. it runs fine during normal driening though.

just wondering, I guess you are running turbo, - stupid question, could it be a bad case of turbo lag.

maybe you got a leak at the gasket, is your vacuum normal?

not lag. lag will go away smoothly.
How do i check for a vacum leak?
a/f and boost is normal (no leak). i have checked everything else but i have never chacked vacum. i dont think the gasket is leaking though, at least not like it was (coolant). but maybe it is not sealed well. i followed all the torque specs to a tee.

well if your running a boost gauge has there bveen any change of the vaccuum at idle? when i idle my car sat around -19 vacuum one time it went up to -12 and i knew i had i leak. i just went to the hood and tried to hear/feel any air comin out of anywhere and i found that i was leaking at the bov cuz the line ripped.

double check your charge pipes and make sure your bov isnt leaking. might be a bad blow of valve or a bad hose coupler also. double check and tighten all the couplers etc. let me know how it goes.

it sounds like vacuum leak, dumping to much fuel or fuel filter is clogged. Did this begin right after you put on the headgasket? Is the timing right?

yeah timeing is on, i did it by the book but that doesnt mean i didnt miss or incorrectly do something. idle and normal driveing is fine though.

caquinde- my boost gauge goes to zero and will not read bellow (stewart warner, came with the kit) si i dont know. is there another way to check(i will listen for air) other than getting a shop to hook it up to a more acurate gauge.

you should be able to hear a boost leak, you will also hear the turbo but won't feel the car going anywhere. No coolant is leaking? sparks are good? no fuel leaking? All the injectors are properly plugged in? It could be so many things

An easy way to check for a vacuum leak is to take a can of carb cleaner and spray around the intake gasket, throttle body, etc... anywhere that air can leak into the intake. Youll find it when rpm's jump up b/c the vacuum leak will be pulling the carb cleaner and will enter the combustion chamber and burn just like gas would. Hope this helps. You can also go to any tool store and get a cheap automotive stethoscope and it blocks off all noise and you can hear leaks easy as hell its a great too.
