CF Hood Problem

i just got a VIS Racing OEM style CF hood today. i have a 2005 civic ex coupe. after installing, i noticed that the space between the hood and headlight on the left side was too high, but on the right side was perfect. if i push down on the left side, everything lines up just fine, but when i let go its out of line again. anybody know anything i can do to fix this problem. im getting hood pins soon, do u think that will hold the hood closer to the car, or do hood pins not push the hood down. please help!

No carbon fiber hood is a perfect fit.

actually I had this same problem when I got my CF hood a few years ago. the owner of the shop I bought it from knew the owner of a body shop that did custom crap and he brought the hood to him and the guy put the hood on some machine and bent it a little bit and when installed back on the car it fit perfectly. charged me only $20. that may be what you need to do.

u need to adjust the hood loosen up the 4 screw alil bit soo the hood can sway from side to side a lil bit...when u find the right place n everything is straight then just simply tighten the screws back up...i did this n it fits perfectly....i also thought the hood pins would keep it in place...but they didn't after adjusting it everything was fine

i did that with the screws and stuff, but its not a side to side problem, that is fine. its that one side sits higher then the other. maybe ill try to do what that other guy was talking about, having a body shop bend it or something. but ill wait and see how the hood pins work. and i didnt have the choice of what company to get it from, i know kaminari stuff fits really well. but my sponsor snet it to me for free, so im not gonna be picky about what company to use.

just a suggestion and im not too sure if it will work or not but have you tried trimming the bump stops??...maybe trim that one side off just a little bit and it will line up..

When you get your pins on, you can adjust the height and that should help.

just make sure you dont put too much pressure on the hood at that one spot with the hood pins or it might slowly start cracking the clear coat...

you can actually adjust the "bump stops" by screwing them tighter or looser to adjust the hight

By adjusting the bump stops and rasing and lowering your hood pin height you should be able to even things out.
How bad is it anyway?
