power steering suction line

hey guys. i have a question for you. in my power steering suction line, the line that sucks the fluid from the reservoir and brings it to the pump itself, theirs a small slit in it. If i took and wrapped it with black tape tightly with about 5 layers or so will that temporarily get me by until i can get to the dealer or parts store to get a new one? thats the only thing i can think of. right now i have it rigged with a bigger hose and theirs a kink in it and now it makes this awful noise. so i need your help. thanks a bunch.

Put some tape and zip ties around it.

It may work at idle, but when you drive and the pressure goes up it may come off. You'll just have to try and see.

alright man. i have the metal holders that hold the tube on. I just had a small slit in the middle of the tube so i just put duct tape around it then wrapped the whole thing in about 3 layers of black tape. it seems to be working fine. Should get me by for awhile until i can get a new one.
