O2 sensor problem
O2 sensor problem
i've had a megan test pipe on for about 2-3 months.. but i didn't really like it so i took it off. but when i was done taking eveything off and installing the stock cat, one of the o2 sensors were messed up and the tread on the sensor was warped and i couldn't twist it into the o2 sensor bung. is there anything i can do to fix it?? or do i have to buy another o2 sensor?... and how much would it cost?........ by the way, right now i have a spark plug non-fouler attached to the sensor and that is attached to the pipe and the CEL is on...
the honda dealership by me quoted me at $236.00 CAN for a new 02 sensor.
That would be about $200 USD but im not sure how the price would change for u seeing as you're in pittsburg, but call ur honda dealer locally.
02 sensors are pretty fragile, and i cant imagine you bending it back. you can *try* chasing the threads with a die, depending on how damaged the thread is it might work just fine. i would have to see it to know for sure myself

depending on the model of civic you have depends on the type of o2 sensor it has. certain models have the regular heated o2 sensors which are cheap. a few other models have the wide band sensors which are very expensive.
go to www.hondaautomotiveparts.com and type in your vehicle info and find the exhaust info and it will tell you how much the sensors are for you car. this site uses the same format that the parts departments at honda uses to locate parts. And the prices are the same if not off by a few dollars or so.
